"Choosing the garden decor...
that suits you!"

In years gone by, gardeners would have scoffed at the idea of garden decor, dismissing it as a frivolity, a luxury that couldn't be afforded perhaps.

However, garden decor and a certain eye for design can enhance any garden, even the most boring back yard!

Enjoying your outside space should be just as important as enjoying inside your home. The weather holds us back of course, from time to time,- even more reason to enjoy it while we can.

Think carefully before spending tons of cash on sculptures, water features, furniture, outside lighting. Will the product really suit your space? Is it too large and clumsy for your small garden, or is it too small and insignificant in your large sprawling natural garden?

Ask yourself as many design-type questions you can come up with before you buy...e.g.

Will the style suit the overall 'look' of your garden?

Is the item too large or too small?

Is colour an option?

Good value for money?

Can the item be displayed at a focal point?

Do you actually LIKE it?!

Apart from the cold, there's no reason why we shouldn't be enjoying our outside space at night as well as during the day.

Your garden decor could include lighting strategically placed over a waterfall or a flowering shrub. The effect in the dark can be magical.

Consider an owl sculpture perched in a tree with a tiny light behind him!

A garden arbor, archway or trellis breaks up a large expanse of lawn beautifully. They can also be placed at the beginning of a garden path so you are obliged to walk through sweet smelling honeysuckle, or trailing roses.

Garden containers have taken a real designer leap recently. Just a few years ago, a flower pot was the only receptacle available to grow your plants indoors or outdoors. But now, the choices are infinite! For full article click here... Garden Containers

Fencing

Young growth can be severely damaged by cold winds and frequent buffeting will cause a great deal of root disturbance. Although privacy and shelter can be provided by trees and shrubs, fences also have an important part to play.

Garden stones don't have to be a nuisance. When you dig over your plot and take out the larger ones, pile them on one side and use them in a feature in your garden.
