"Garden Benches"

Garden benches can be made from just about anything strong enough to sit on...

Upturned barrels

tree stumps

driftwood....

A little imagination goes a long way in the garden. Stick close to the theme of your garden. Try to avoid white plastic if you can. It tends to reflect the sun and you'll need shades to look at it!

In France the norm is to buy green plastic - if you are buying plastic that is - and in the UK we tend to go for white, which I guess reflects how much sun we get in the UK compared with France!

The home made seat above has served our family and friends well for a number of years.

Buying seating for the garden is a joy in itself. Depending on the theme of your garden, you could decide on wrought iron fancy benches, solid wooden benches and even traditional english park benches.

There are many garden benches to choose from on this page at amazon ( for US deliveries )....

Have a simple round table you can move around in the garden. You don't have to stick to a regular table and 4 chairs. A solitary garden seat with a small 'coffee' table (an old barrel?) can create a peaceful oasis in an otherwise busy patio area. Position the garden bench in a partial-shade area to cool down on after a session in the vegetable garden.

Comfortable seating in your garden encourages a community spirit. You only have to sit down and open a book and everyone will be there to share your space....Works every time!

Happy Gardening!
